We had a great vacation in California in May. Here’s a few pictures. We stayed in Carlsbad near the beach and the children loved playing in the sand and waves. They also loved legoland.

Emily Update

Emily had an x-ray on her hips at the start of May. Mostly good news. The left hip which was dislocated at birth and operated on is doing great. However the right hip which was never as bad as the left is not developing as we’d like. If it doesn’t improve then she’ll have to have surgery on that in a couple of years. There’s not much we can do as the only treatment is to put the brace on her and she will not tolerate it. So we are hoping for a natural improvement which may happen. Next x-ray in November.

She’s charging around by herself though as you can see from the pics she’s possibly the cutest little girl ever. We may be a little biased though.

Other stuff

Hugh finished his first year of pre-school and I was proud and a little emotional when he stood up with all the other kids and sang his heart out at the end of school year bash. At three and a half he’s the youngest in the class and will do two more years of preschool before kindergarten.

Not much else to report. We’re enjoying a hot and sunny 4th July weekend and as always I’m flying both the stars and stripes and the British union flag out the front of the house!
